About Us
For over 80 years the Munsey Park Women’s Club has strengthened friendliness and civic responsibility among neighbors of the Village of Munsey Park.
Each year the MPWC brings families together for lots of fun events including an Easter egg hunt, a Halloween parade, and other children’s activities. Friendships are formed at progressive dinners, wine tastings, and similar couples’ events. Activities for women include cooking demonstrations and shopping nights, plus an annual ladies night in September and June.
Through proceeds by two neighborhood events, Light the Night in December and a Children’s Fun Run in the Spring, the club’s non-profit entity, Munsey Park Women’s Club Philanthripic, Inc., supports may different community initiatives.
A club newsletter and directory are distributed to all members. Through service on MPWC committees, members have an opportunity to organize activities and shape the future of the club.
News & Events
Various children’s, couples and ladies events are held throughout the year. Some of the events we have hosted previously are:
Children’s events:
Halloween Parade – every October children gather in front of Munsey Park School in their Halloween costume and parade down Hunt Lane to Remmington to end at Pollywog Pond for a treat. The children is escorted by the Nassau County Police Department.
Easter Egg Hunt – Spring – Before Easter, the children are treated to an Easter Egg Hunt of epic proportions! Don’t be late, its over in a flash. Special appearance by the Easter Bunny himself!
Ladies Events:
Ladies Kick-off Cocktails – Early Fall – Hosted by a Munsey Park neighbor, ladies get together to “kick-off” the start of a new year of activities. Guests have the opportunity to pay dues and volunteer to help organize various events or become a part of an existing committee.
Shop Around the Block – Late Fall – To get in the mood for the holidays, we host a shopping night. Homes are selected to be close together and neighbors and friends come and go from house to house for a night of holiday cheer.
Ladies night out – Winter – To break the winter blues, we organize a dinner at a local restaurant and “go dutch” for a fun night out.
End of year get together – June – Hosted at a Munsey Park home, a final gathering with food and drinks to get ready for the summer
Couples:
Oktoberfest – October – Held at a neighbor’s back yard or in a village park, a night of fun in the fall
Spring Party – Another fun night with friends and neighbors. Good food too.
Other couples events: Progressive Dinner, Wine Tasting
Membership
If you are interested in becoming a member, please mail in your membership form to Munsey Park Women’s Club PO Box 1254 Manhasset, N.Y. 11030 If you would like to become involved in organizing an event or participating on the board or on a committee, please note that on your membership form. Once you are a paid member, you will receive updates by email and invitations by evite. In addition, you will receive a periodic newsletter and a directory in the spring.
Membership is $50 yearly. Cut off is January 1st to be included in the directory and to be included on electronic communication.
Philanthropic
Munsey Park Women’s Club Philanthropic works to support initiatives for the betterment of our village. In addition, MPWC Philanthropic works to provide help to those in need at a local level. We have hosted annual events which have helped to restore our public spaces as well as provide support to local families in need. Over the past several years, MPWC Philanthropic donated proceeds from the Fun Run to Project Share. We strive to continue to look for opportunities to improve our village and give back to people in need within our community.
